I am a comic based here in the LA and Inland Empire area. I am the product of a divorced mother and father. Both are credited with contributing to the development of my humor. In good ways and bad. I remember when my dad used to take my brother and I for the weekend. He would usually take us to the movies. One weekend he took us to go see Eddie Murphy "RAW" (I know what a great movie to see as a child. Great parenting dad...). Hearing his style of humor at that age ensured the experience would stay with me for a lifetime. My mom has always been the life of the party. She truly is a larger than life person. She has always said what she wanted to and has cracked people up for years. Growing up with her I was able to see Richard Pryor on cable and couldnt believe my young catholic boy ears. He was profane yet incredibly hilarious. I was incredibly shy in my younger years but didnt really break out of my shell till the military. It was during a time when I had to serve in the Middle East. Right before I went to serve I bought a comedy CD by Dennis Leary. I figured it would get me through at least one of my 12 hour shifts for the next few months. It did more than that. I listened to it about 100 times. I made everyone else listen to it. He was awesome. Once out of the military I did not have a burning desire to try stand up, however I had always cracked people up. Especially after I got out of the military I became even funnier. It's as if the misery i experienced in my life made my funny bone stronger. Finally someone challenged me to do stand up and so I finally tried it. After a few bumps and bruises I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed making people laugh. Then divorce hit and I stopped for a few years...As with my previous misery once it was over I was absolutely fucking hilarious. I tried again performing in clubs and this time it has stuck. I love the reactions I have been getting from the audience. My humor comes from all life around me and my new and improved male point of view and perspective. I have no intention of quitting this rollercoaster. You may not know who I am yet and you may not have heard of me. But once you do trust me you will never forget...Aurelio Miguel Bocanegra!!!...
