About Me
We are "The Princes in the Tower."I am Edward V of England (1470-1483) and my brother, Richard of Shrewsbury, 1st Duke of York (1473 – 1483), are the two young sons of King Edward IV and our mother, Elizabeth Woodville. We were declared illegitimate by the Act of Parliament known as Titulus Regius. Our uncle, Richard III, placed us both in the Tower of London (then a royal residence as well as a prison) in 1483, and we were never seen again. Our fate remains unknown to everyone, although many presume us to have been killed there. However, it is not certain that we were murdered at all. Child mortality was extremely high during the era, and it is plausible that we died natural deaths. This explanation would not account for the lack of a funeral.
