About Me

Historians can't seem to place a date on my birth but know it was in 1509. I was born in Wiltshire, and grew up there. I came to London to join the court of Queen Catherine of Aragon, but then after their divorce, and Henry remarried I joined the court of his new wife, Anne Boleyn. Sometime in September of 1535, the king visited my family home in Wiltshire, perhaps this is where he first took note of me, the world shall never know. It wasn't until February of 1536 that Henry made his move to court me. Like any respectable lady I wouldn't give in to becoming the king's mistress and the king was already growing tired of Anne. Within 24 hours of her execution, Henry and I were engaged.
We married on May 30, 1536. Unlike his two queens before me, I didn't get a corination. Perhaps Henry was waiting for me to prove myself my giving him his son and heir. Finally on October 12, 1537 my son and heir to the throne, Prince Edward was born. Henry couldn't have been more pleased! I was as well, but I was very ill, I attended my son's christining bedriddin. Two short weeks after Edward's birth, I passed away. Henry buried me in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle where he too is buried, I was the only one of his wives to be buried with him. My son unfourtunetly did not live long..he died a tragic death at age 15, but he came to be with me in Heaven.
