Besides being the founder and leader of KARIBA and the KARIBA All Stars, Juanito is working on different projets with friends and members of the KARIBA-FAMILY.
Aka "JUAN DEL GURO" he is producing and recording together with his oldest son HOLGER-JORGE aka "DJ TOOLOON" ( listen track "BAILA LA RICA RUMBA").
They also work together in the DRUM EXPERIENCE PROJECT.
In 2003 Juanito founded together with some of the KARIBA-FAMILY members the CAPOEIRA-FAMILY and recorded two tracks. (go to CAPOEIRA-FAMILY )
2000 he recorded together with some FAMILY members the album ROOTS, RHYTHM & RITUAL: GO THE WARRIORS WAY.
ROOTS, RHYTHM & RITUAL has also been performed by the KARIBA-FAMILY as a musical in 1997 (go to ROOTS, RHYTHM & RITUAL).
Since 1997 Juanito is working with RAQUELLE CHAVIS, a former member of the ALVIN AILEY COMPANY and an outstanding vocalist.
He is also a member of GEECHIE ANNE PRODUCTIONS Inc., founded by RAQUELLE CHAVIS (www.geechieanneproductions.com).
Since the seventies Juanito is travelling, playing and recording with MICHAEL JAROSCH (listen track "ON THE ROAD").
Juanito is also leading the ROOTS, RHYTHM & RITUAL workshop, teaching rhythms and moves.
He is also organizing workshops for CHIEF MURAINA OYELAMI (Nigeria), who is teaching yoruba drumming and orisha chants.
Together with JOGE WATUTSI he is running the BAHIA BEATS workshop.
