RAZZIA

In 1977 Juanito "Hansi" Heldmann, who until this point had been playing clubs and youth centers, forms the rock group RAZZIA. In the same year RAZZIA performs in the play "Das hältste ja im Kopf nicht aus" at the Munich "Theater der Jugend". During this period the group members start to go their separate ways. Juanito "Hansi" Heldmann and Werner Grause keep RAZZIA going, and in 1978 the new RAZZIA lineup records their first LP for the Trikont Label at Echo Studios. Shortly afterwards the band splits up again.
Over the next years Juanito "Hansi" Heldmann busks his way through Europe, and finally ends up in Amsterdam where he plays folk clubs. Along with a continually changing cast of band members he gigs with RAZZIA in Germany and Austria, part electric, part acoustic. In August 1979, the final RAZZIA lineup starts work on the material for their second album which is recorded at Trion Sound Studios Frankfurt in the winter of 1979/1980, but never released. The songs on MySpace are from this recording. They are songs with Bavarian lyrics, that make a clear statement in themselves and against the system.
Due to the bad record deal with Trion Sound the band splits up for the last time at the end of 1980. Juanito "Hansi" Heldmann is fed up with German music business and emigrates to the Canary Islands. There he forms his band KARIBA in 1981.

1977 gründet Juanito "Hansi" Heldmann, der bis dahin als Liedermacher durch Clubs und Jugendzentren getingelt war, die Rockgruppe RAZZIA. Im selben Jahr spielt RAZZIA am Münchener "Theater der Jugend" als Band in dem Stück "Das hältste ja im Kopf nicht aus". Schon während dieser Zeit spaltet sich die Gruppe. Juanito "Hansi" Heldmann und Werner Grause machen weiter RAZZIA. 1978 spielt die neue RAZZIA im Echo Studio ihre erste LP für den Trikont-Verlag ein. Kurz darauf löst sich die Gruppe wieder auf.
Juanito "Hansi" Heldmann zieht in den darauffolgenden Jahren als Straßenmusiker durch Europa und landet schließlich in Amsterdam, wo er in Folkkneipen spielt. Mit ständig wechselnder Besetzung tritt er mit RAZZIA in Deutschland und Österreich auf, teils elektrisch, teils akustisch. Im August 1979 beginnt die letzte RAZZIA-Formation an dem Material für die zweite LP zu arbeiten, die im Winter 79/80 im Trion Sound Studio in Frankfurt aufgenommen, aber nie veröffentlicht wird. Die Songs hier auf MySpace stammen aus dieser Produktion. Es sind Lieder mit bayerischen Texten, die für sich selbst und gegen das System sprechen.
Ende 1980 löst sich die Band aufgrund des schlechten Plattendeals mit Trion Sound endgültig auf. Juanito "Hansi" Heldmann hat genug vom deutschen Musikgeschäft und wandert auf die Kanarischen Inseln aus. Dort gründet er 1981 seine Band KARIBA.
