About Me

Mario Morejon -EL INDIO- born in Cuba, began to play the trumpet with eight years, classically trained at the Habana´s NationalSchool of Arts (1990-1994). With 14 years old was playing with Bobby Carcases and Afro Jazz Band and with eighteen years old with Chucho Valdez and Irakere Band, after that with Habana Ensemble and anothers proyect´s with many diferent musicians like, Paquito de Rivera, Giovani Hidalgo, Eddy Palmieri, Tata Guines, Changuito, Miguel Anga, Ivan Lins, Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hagrove, and other´s. El Indio has recorded three Albums, the first "Nuevos Horizontes", with Drayfus Jazz- Sony Music France released 2001 in Europe and Japan, the second "Mundo Oscuro" with Video Arts Music Japan in 2002, and recentlly the new album "Maferefun Papa Shango" . In this very special album El Indio play diferents instruments like the Tenor & Soprano Sax´s, Piano, Percussion and vocal´s.
