LIVING FOR MUSIC (and my family.)
Antonio Eloy Perigo Viant was born on the 6th of August 1978 in La Habana, Cuba. Music was his passion since childhood and his uncle Rafael Viant, great trumpet player, was his inspiration as well as his mother Silvia Viant, clarinet player.
He started taking piano lessons and musical theory at age 6 and entered the Habana Conservatory, named Alejandro Garcia Caturla, at age 10, to start his trumpet career. He attended the National Arts´School (ENA) from 1992 to 1996.
He then worked with different Cuban bands, recording with the Caro Band (Caro Band Te Salva). He also played for the world famous bolero singer Omara Portuondo. With this artist Antonio toured several Asian countries: North Korea, China (Beijing) and Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho-Chi-Min).
In 1997 he moved permanently to Mexico City; in this city he has recorded with singers such as Fellove, Malena Durán and Guadalupe Pineda; as a special guest, he recorded in Miami, Albita´s last record called "Albita Live". In Mexico City he has worked with a great many orquestras and singers as Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, Celio Gonzalez, Albita Rodriguez, Olga Tañon, Chayanne, Emanuel, Ricardo Montaner, Eddy Herrera and the 40 degree orquestra. As a Merengue music trumpet player he has played for Merenglass, Kolé, Rica Band, Hjalmar Orquesta and Kché Bandazza. He has participated in the cumbia´groups Sonora Dinamita and Los Angeles de Charly. Presently he is touring Mexico as well as the US and many Latin American countries with Los Angeles de Charly.
