Beyond War is a revitalization of the Beyond War movement of the 1980's that had 24,000 participants in 23 states in the USA and worldwide. Like its predecessor, Beyond War proposes a new way of thinking about resolving conflicts.
The movement is based on three Foundational Ideas:
-
War is obsolete.
We all live on one planet together.
The means are the ends in the making.
and the Behavioral Implications of these ideas:
-
I will resolve conflict.
I will not use violence.
I will not preoccupy myself with an enemy.
I will maintain an attitude of goodwill.
I will take initiative and respond to conflict within these principles and implications even when others are confused or lost in their fight or flight reflexes.
I will work together with others to build a world beyond war.
