As China's New Year dawns to colorful celebrations and family gatherings - and its 1.3 billion people eagerly anticipate hosting the upcoming Olympic Games - the country faces a historical crisis: at least 150 million of its citizens are relegated to difficult lives as migrant workers.
We invite you to explore the disparity of change through the eyes of some of those we're helping - among them a noodle maker, motorcycle taxi driver, scrap collector and two middle school students.
They are the faces and voices of 60,000 people that Mercy Corps has assisted in the world's most populous country.

Kenya: Families Flee Violence

A month of post-election violence throughout Kenya has killed more than 800 people and driven at least 300,000 from their homes.
These displaced survivors face food shortages, lack of clean drinking water and abysmal sanitary conditions where infectious diseases run rampant.
They need your help.
Mercy Corps has sent an emergency team to meet with displaced families and assess critical unmet needs in the area around the city of Eldoret, where overcrowded camps currently contain thousands of survivors.
