We are poets. Check out our book! The Little Scroll Welcome to MySpace. I'm Cheryl, a native New Englander. I'm here with my husband, Ghassan. He is from Damscus, Syria. We've shared our lives and cultures together for 25 years. We are both Christian Catholics. We speak English and Arabic and enjoy multi-cultural cuisine. We write political poetry for your mind's entertainment because the American policies affect both of our cultures. We together have suffered the indignities of discrimination and poverty. Ghassan filed a lawsuit against the United States Congress on September 11, 2000 for their "war on welfare" during the leadership of Speaker Newt Gingrich, contending that it is illegal to declare and/or launch a "war" on any segment of the American people. It is also contended that governmental social service programs in the U.S. are entitlements of each citizen and should not come with governmental or public condemnation; Speaker Gingrich's declaration of war was unConstitutional and he was quietly removed. This action of September 11, 2000 also contends that in the event that the 3 branches of the United States Government attempted to keep this action of Sept. 11, 2000 from public view and open public debate that the international reprisal is imminent. "The Little Scroll" is a poetic epic of the struggle of one American citizen against the central governmental power of the United States of America.
