About Me

Recently, his "Flute Mystery op.66a" for alto flute, harp and string orchestra was performed by Sir James Galway and National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Leonard Slatkin. Berg (b.1973) is a Norwegian composer, creating music for a broad gamut of instrumentations, like e.g. chamber works for piano, flute, violin, viola, cello, contrabass and orchestral works like piano concertos and symphonic poems.He is also a musician and movie director, working closely with the company Symbiophonic, which publishes his sheet music and productions worldwide.Berg lives in Saltdal, a valley north of the Arctic Circle. His production counts some 200 titles, including orchestral works, chamber music, electronic music and songs.Berg has produced seven albums. Among these, "Pictures before an Exhibition" – an album resembling the soundtrack genre. It contains eight electroacoustic works."Flute Sonata no.1 op.40", "Violin Sonata no.1 op.50" and "Waltz of the Queen op.4a" are three of the works on the chamber music related album "Seasons of Life".The music on "About my Grandfather" is performed by the Norwegian Radio Orchestra under the supervision of Ari Rasilainen. Joachim Knoph is the soloist on two of the Piano Concertos. This recording also includes two symphonic poems. The works present on this album were also used in the movie "Montagna con Forza", which Berg directed.Presently, Fred Jonny Berg is working on an opera, a ballet, commissions and several chamber works.
