About Me

Di Wu won her first competition at age six and debuted with the Beijing Philharmonic at age fourteen. Since then, she has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, with the National Symphony Orchestra in the Kennedy Center, with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and twice with the New York Pops in Carnegie Hall.

In addition to orchestral engagements, Ms. Wu made her solo debut in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2005 and has given recitals in the U.S., Canada and China. She has also toured extensively in Europe, performing at festivals such as Mozart Gesellschaft Dortmund, Klavier Festival Ruhr, Busoni International Piano Festival, and at venues such as Musée d'Orsay and Musée de Grenoble.

Ms. Wu is a frequent prizewinner of piano competitions. She won the 2007 National Audition held by Astral, and is now represented by the Astral Artistic Services. In addition, she won the first prize at the 2005 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and the 2000 Missouri Southern International Piano Competition, where she was invited back for a worldwide broadcast encore recital in 2001.

Highlights of the 07-08 season include recitals in California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and Barbados, as well as orchestral engagements with Bryan Symphony Orchestra, Rockland Symphony Orchestra, and Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Wu completed her undergraduate education at the Curtis Institute of Music under the guidance of Gary Graffman, and recently obtained her Master’s Degree at The Julliard School under the guidance of Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky. She is currently in the Artist Diploma program at The Juilliard School under the guidance of Joseph Kalichstein and Robert McDonald.
