Sevananda Natural Foods Market

Cooperatively Owned Since 1974

About Me

At Sevananda Natural Foods Market, everyone can shop, anyone can join. We are one of the Southeast‘s largest consumer-owned cooperatives providing fresh, local and organic produce, natural foods, vitamins and supplements, a large selection of bulk herbs and spices, earth-friendly household and pet products and freshly prepared foods including nutritious baked goods, soups, sandwiches, entrees and salads.
Located in Little 5 Points, near Downtown Atlanta, we offer shoppers and member-owners a variety of health and nutrition classes for healthy living. Sevananda, (pronounced "SAY-vuh-NAHN-dah"), cooperatively owned since 1974 was created to empower the community to health and well-being.
You provide the equity that makes Sevananda run. Each member -- makes a refundable investment of $120 (over six years). In return, members receive a yearly patronage refund (their share of the co-op's profits), member-only specials, a vote in the Board of Directors election, the ability to run for the Board of Directors, and a voice in Atlanta's finest natural foods grocery store.
All co-ops share common principles. They are:
1. Open and voluntary membership
2. Democratic control: one-member/one-vote
3. Member economic participation
4. Autonomy and independence
5. Continuous education to members and public
6. Cooperation among cooperatives
7. Concern for community

We sell what is sustainable because it's the right thing to do for ourselves and for our world!
