// MISSION
WonderRoot is an Atlanta-based 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization committed to uniting artists and community to inspire positive social change.
Objectives
• to provide production facilities to Atlanta-based artists
• to facilitate arts-based service programs in the Atlanta community
• to encourage artists to be proactive in engaging their local communities through service work
// COMMUNITY CENTER
• The WonderRoot Community Arts Center is a place where artists and activists can come together to build community through art. For just $10/month Atlanta artists can have unlimited access to our production facilities on a first come first service basis.
• Our studios include a darkroom, recording studio, digital media lab, and ceramics studio. We also have meeting and classroom space, as well as a small performance space. Our hope is that the Community Arts Center will be a jumping off place for artists to engage their communities through art. We will hold regular workshops ranging from music production and film developing to bookmaking and poetry.
// VISION
• WonderRoot was founded in 2004 in response to Atlanta's need for an organization that unites artists and community advocacy. We believe that artists have the potential to change the world. Musicians, photographers, writers, filmmakers, and artists of all other mediums have the ability to communicate globally moving freely through the barriers of language and geographical restraints. In a society that receives much of its information through the media, the most effective way to implement positive change is through using media resources. We are artists giving back to the community that has done so much to inspire us.
