About Me

Baby Steps was formed by three mothers with training and experience as childbirth educators and doulas. As students during our own first pregnancies, we realized how little clear, evidence-based information is readily available to parents-to-be. We have taken our combined knowledge, mixed with a lot of hard work and love, to create a group of classes for new parents. Whatever you want your birth experience to be, we have a class for you that is open, honest, and well-researched.

The Business of Being Born

My Interests

Pregnancy is a special time in a woman's life. She may alternate between joy and fear, wonder and anxiety. It may be difficult to wade through all the information and unsolicited advice about what's best for her and for her baby. During a time when she is most sensitive to input from others, she may be bombarded with conflicting information.

Birth is the final transition in the journey from an individual person to Mother, who will forever live with a piece of her heart outside of herself. Each birth is unique, and each baby has only one opportunity to make a peaceful, joyous entrance into the world outside of her mother's womb.

Birth is the end of one phase of a woman's life, and the beginning of another. It is our honor at Baby Steps to offer mothers and fathers the information and tools they need to make the decisions that are best for their families.

I'd like to meet:

People who are interested in learning more about pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting.
