July 22-23, 2006 *accomplishment* Not only did I raise over $1300...
It was an awesome experience! Over 1.100 walkers/people who raised over 1.7 million dollars for this event. We walked 20 miles up & down hills of San Francisco from 8:30pm til 5:30am!! Everyone was so friendly, yet there were one's who just walked.... we all had our own reasons for being there. Some of us, like me, chatted almost the whole time, while others, just listened :c) Either way, WE ALL MADE IT THRU THE 20 MILES & ACCOMPLISHED WHAT WE WERE ALL THERE FOR... to get the word out. $1.7 million raised sounds like alot of money to help benefit this cause but they help so many people! It doesn't seem like we hardly raised enough.There's still time to put the word out about AFSP (SUICIDE PREVENTION & DEPRESSION AWARENESS) and still get donations in (for those of you haven't gotten the chance to do so yet)

NYSP is a local Summer Sports Camp at Chabot College for our Youth... 2006 might be it's last year because of our countries's cutbacks!! Please if you can take a moment to write or even call them, it would make a big impact!! My 2 older kids (ages 10,12) both went this year and they loved it... they played 4 different sports a day, 4 days a week, for 4 weeks... it was alot better than trying to find them babysitters or leaving them home alone to be 'latch key kids'... Please help make a difference

I didn't have the courage to stand up to my abuser til one day he went too far & almost hurt 1 of his children... and that was the day, the 1st time I ever called CPS. And did my life change from that day on... and the other 6 childrens lives! We were all scared but we all felt a sense of relief at the same time.
God Please watch over the children and me everyday AND everynight... so my once abusers don't hurt any of us again...

Not only did this day impact so many lives in such a horrible way that they'll NEVER forget... but... there's a positive side to this as well. While I was pregnant with my 3rd child, I was driving home & got rear-ended by some hit & run driver. I went into frequent, mild contractions & was hospitalized. I had a little over a week before my due date but after 24 hours at the hospital, they decided it was best to induce me. That day was Sept.10, 2002. I so didn't want my child to be born on 9/11 but... that's what happened! He came 17 minutes too late! 12:17am on Sept.11, 2002, my son was born. And then later to find out that 16!! babies were born in that hospital during that whole day. The hospital staff said that that was an unusally high amount of deliveries for 1 day.
I guess God does work miracles because although so many lives were taken away that very same date last year, he replenished the earth with many more lives the next year :c)
I was blessed with a child exactly 1 year after this tragic event so I'll never forget what happened to our country. But believe me, this child, who came into this world on that day, exactly a year later is going to be someone special!! I can already tell... :c)
