It leaves a wound so deep the pain seems unbearable. With effort, healing is possible and will happen. The wound will become a scar, and though it will never go away, the pain will eventually ease.
I'd like to meet:
Men, women, victims, survivors, supporters... Share your stories, thoughts, fears, encouragement, prayers... When we speak out, not only to we break the silence, we heal and we help others to heal. Please, let your voices be heard...
You are now marked on my profile visitor map!Together from all over the world, we unite, we take a stand, we make noise, and we shout to the world, we are no longer victims, we are survivors!
Books:
The book that has helped me the most has been The Courage to Heal by Ellen Bass and Laura Davis. There are so many good ones... please send me names of books that have helped you to heal and I'll include them as resources here.
Other's recommended; Blue Like Jazz
Heroes:
The men and women that spoke out before me, making it easier for me to do it myself. Those that support survivors and their efforts to heal. I would like to send a thank you out to Oprah, who's constant support of sexual abuse survivors, in part, gave me the courage to let my voice be heard.
