I am a freelance writer from Pennsylvania and a proud mom of two teenagers! I watched my son go from being that 5 year old boy who ran to the tv as soon as he heard the theme to "COPS" to making his own plans to join the Police Academy! Then I saw my daughter go from spending hours in her sandbox....building and digging and asking me to "hide stuff in the sand" so that she can find it to studying history and planning on attending college to major in archaeology! I work as a freelance writer, job coach and a teen facititator. My favorite work is the volunteer work I do for the soldiers in Iraq - can't wait until you all come home!! I have recently started a small business club - we are the "Small Business Exchange Group." It's for small business owners and those who want to be! I hope all of their businesses become a great success!
Growing up my favorite books were "The Biggest Bear" by Lynd Ward, "Paddington Goes to Town" and the "Peter Rabbit" series. I used to write my own Peter Rabbit books....OK, I was 7 years old and I didn't know what plagiarism was at the time. When I was 9 years old I became a "fan" of Don Cannon ~ he is a news journalist. After watching him, I switched from writing fiction to nonfiction, I wanted to be like him! It's silly since he was a news anchorman but he was my biggest influence. Through the years, he never let life beat him down. He stayed strong as a reporter and journalist and he worked everyday to have a positive effect and others and I still want to be just like him!
I have two goals. One is to raise my kids to be honest, compassionate hard-working adults ~ or something close to it! The other is to someday have my books published! *knock on wood*
Thank A Veteran For Your Freedom
By J. L. Sager
It was a veteran, not a reporter,
Who guaranteed freedom of the press.
It was a veteran, not a poet,
Who guaranteed freedom of speech.
It was a veteran, not a campus organizer,
Who guaranteed freedom to demonstrate.
It was a veteran, not a minister,
Who guaranteed freedom to worship.
It was a veteran, not a salesman,
Who guaranteed freedom to own property.
It was a veteran, not a travel agent,
Who guaranteed freedom to travel.
It was a veteran, not a politician,
Who guaranteed freedom to vote.
It is a veteran who salutes the Flag,
Risks it all for the Flag,
And who is buried beneath the Flag.
There is only one world....we better start learning to get along!
A CANDLE BURNS AS A PRAYER OF HOPE FOR THOSE SUFFERING FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
When they say don't park in front of the fire hydrant, they mean it!
