About Me

Myspace BackgroundsMy life is my family, friends and writing. I've published three novels as of the date I signed up here, 6/9/06: The Thin Pink Line, Crossing the Line, A Little Change of Face - all comedies. Before the year is out I'll see four more books published: How Nancy Drew Saved My Life, another comedy; Vertigo, a literary novel set in the Victorian era with erotic and suspense undertones; Angel's Choice, an earnest YA about teen pregnancy; and This Is Chick-Lit, an anthology of which I'm editor as well as contributor, the anthology also including Deanna Carlyle, Jennifer Coburn, Johanna Edwards, Karin Gillespie, Raelynn Hillhouse, Andrea Schicke Hirsch, Julie Kenner, Harley Jane Kozak, Stephanie Lehmann, Caren Lissner, Cara Lockwood, Ariella Papa, Kayla Perrin, Rachel Pine, Gena Showalter, Karen Siplin, and Heather Swain. I also have an essay in the Jane Austen anthology Flirting with Pride & Prejudice and a short story I co-wrote with my husband in the forthcoming Literary Cash, all about Johnny Cash. Before being published as a novelist, I was an independent bookseller for 11 years, a book reviewer for Publishers Weekly, a freelance editor, a sort-of librarian and a window washer....

Greek passion

The nice thing about having a blog, as opposed to a column, is that you basically can write about anything you want to, in any way you want to, without any editorial gatekeepers. That's how we end up ...

Which God or Goddess Are You?

This, along with "Which Deadly Sin Are You?", is one of my favorite games. It's also a good way to stay in touch with all of you on a day I don't have time to create a longer, brilliant post here. To ...

Whinges, Limbo & Glories, Part III of III

I did promise last week that no matter what was going on, we'd talk about glories this week, so that's what we're going to do, even if it kills us. But before we get started I feel compelled to point ...

Whinges, Limbo, and Glories, Part II of III

Well, this is a fine how do you do. Last week, I claimed the post was Part I of II, the first on whinges, the second on glories, and here I decide to throw a third spanner into the works. So sue me. B...

Whinges & Glories, Part I of II

Writing, and life, comes with its share of whinge-worthy things (def: whinge = whine in Brit-speak) as well as its glorious moments. So this week we'll all have a whingefest and commiserate over our f...
