About Me

My novels to date, from Five Star, an imprint of Gale, a part of Cengage Learning: MATCHMAKER, MATCHMAKER, 1/06 - A...MY NAME'S AMELIA, 3/07 - THE PARLOR HOUSE DAUGHTER, 12/08 - MEGGIE'S REMAINS, 7/09. My first novel, MATCHMAKER, MATCHMAKER, won the Land of Enchantment Romance Authors/Romance Writers of America, top prize for historicals in 2004. A...MY NAME'S AMELIA, is my second published novel. I was happy, indeed, to bring yet another strong, western heroine to the printed-romance page. I INVITE YOU TO VISIT MY WEBSITE, WWW.JOANNESUNDELL.COM, FOR REVIEWS AND AUTHOR QUOTES OF MY NOVELS. My third novel, THE PARLOR HOUSE DAUGHTER, set in 1880 Denver, is due out December 2008, while MEGGIE'S REMAINS~A Romance to Die For, set in 1874 Colorado Territory, is due out July 2009. Both upcoming releases are from Five Star. My current WIP takes me out of the West and to the East coast for a romance set in Civil War, Virginia.

My Interests

I attended nursing school at VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY (formerly THE MEDICAL COLLEGE OF VIRGINIA), graduating in 1970. I attended WASHINGTON-LEE HIGH SCHOOL in Arlington County, Virginia, graduating in 1964.My interests include writing romance, historical romance, discovering new libraries that love Five Star books, and pursuing the great outdoors in Colorado. Of course I love animals, with two huskies and two cats.

I'd like to meet:

Five Star/Gale Authors, Historical Romance Authors, fans of Historical Romance, and hey ... how about readers, period! We're becoming a lost race I'm afraid. My writing groups include Romance Writers of America, Colorado Romance Writers, Women Writing the West and FIVE STAR - GALE, a part of Cengage Learning authors

Music:

Country and Classical

Movies:

It's hard to find a movie I don't like but ... how about Hildago? Whew, that was a tough one. Save for that, I love most films and the whole "let's go to the movies" experience. I do love period pieces, however, the most of all.

Television:

I was hooked on Deadwood, absolutely. For anyone who loves historicals, westerns in particular, it was a gold mine. Of course, Curb Your Enthusiasm is hysterical. I like most everything on Masterpiece Theater. I (she said, muffled) do watch an occasional reality show. I'm ga ga for Gorden Ramsey and Hell's Kitchen!

Books:

All things Jane Austen and the Bronte.. sisters. I can't get enough copies of their books and/or films.

Heroes:

Lovers of Romance and anyone who can break our hearts, then cares enough to help put them back together.
