Currently, I'm an English Specialist at the university, where I teach freshman composition and occasionally continuing ed courses on fiction writing.
When I'm not teaching, I'm editing two quarterly e-mags:
The Nubian Chronicles
born: 1999 - publishes short stories, articles, essays, poetry--conducts interviews with authors and books, etc.
SisterDivas
born: been a part of it since 2003 - showcases women (through articles, commentaries, essays, and interviews) from all walks of life and cultures in the following areas: media, career, relationships, and total body.
If I'm not editing the 'zines, I'm editing clients' manuscripts.
I also run a blog called
where I interview women writers I like; previous writers include Bettye Griffin, Mary Castillo, Lauren Baratz-Logsted, Donna Hill, Kayla Perrin, Karen Siplin, Melissa Senate, Alesia Holliday, Bernice McFadden, Gena Showalter, and Carly Phillips!

My Interests

Going to church, writing, reading, watching TV (most crime shows, sports, and cartoons), hanging out with my friends and family, doing the "foo foo" thing of sitting in cafes drinking lattes and waxing philosophically...
