Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council

About Me

In the spring of 2005, ProArts and the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Alliance combined their complementary visions by merging as the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council. ProArts has been dedicated to strengthening, supporting and promoting the arts in Allegheny County since its inception in 1994. It has provided and array of programs and services targeted for small to mid-sized organizations, including a ticket service, educational workshops and seminars, pro bono business and legal consulting, grant programs, and information resources.
With a membership comprising individual artists, arts organizations of all sizes, and private citizens committed to the arts, Greater Pittsburgh Arts Alliance has pursued its mission to enhance the region using the arts as a catalyst for growth, change, and enrichment through local, state and national advocacy and awareness building.
Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council integrates the best of both missions as a collective voice for the arts that expands the reach, influence and effectiveness of the regions' varied and vibrant arts community.
