History, especially British/European, Russian, and ancient civilizations. Various handcrafts including knitting, embroidery, and beadwork. Occult and paranormal investigation, as well as unsolved mysteries/crimes (Jack the Ripper, Zodiac, Black Dahlia, etc.)
I'd like to meet:
Living and dead: Eleanor of Aquitaine, John Waters, Michael Palin, Stephen Fry, RuPaul, John Gielgud, Katharine Hepburn, Mary Wollstonecraft, Joan Baez, Molly Ivins, Mark Twain, Benjamin Franklin, Vincent Price, Tim Curry. And if you're reading this - you.
Music:
I could probably name at least one song or artist from every genre that I can listen to, but favorites genres are metal, industrial, goth, Celtic, and 80s (which I can't really help, since those were my formative teen years.) Favorites (as in, I own everything they've done) are Nine Inch Nails, Type O Negative, and Metallica. And I'm always open to recommendations, so feel free to make them.
Movies:
Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride, Harold and Maude, Rocky Horror Picture Show, any of the Shearer/Guest mockumentaries, and anything starring Cary Grant or Audrey Hepburn. And all the Python movies. I also have a weakness for lavish historical epics, no matter how bad they may be.
Television:
Always and forever: South Park. Currently: Heroes, Dexter, Eureka, Dirty Sexy Money, Burn Notice, Moonlight. Classic Britcoms, Monty Python, AbFab, Red Dwarf, Black Adder, Father Ted. And Dr. Who. Mustn't forget the Doctor. Also, anything with Bruce Campbell in it. Sadly, I am a reality tv junkie, though I draw the line at the dating or gross-out shows. I do have some standards, low though they may be.
Books:
Too many to name really (occupational hazard). If I had to, I'd say The Once and Future King. Also historical fiction/mysteries, anything at all by Bill Bryson. Also Anne Perry, Elizabeth Peters, Margaret George, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Robert Jordan.
