Dark music, for deep people

About Me

DARK MUSIC FOR DEEP PEOPLE

You are either growing or dying. There is no in between.
Most of us are in the thrall of Winter. There is coming though, an infinite Spring. We feel the cruel claws of Winter all the more intensely because of our nascent awareness of it; but in the depth of the cold night, when you are chilled to the core of your being, the inevitable, warm wind of tomorrow seems a million years away.
Let the music into your ears, and it will make its way into your soul. There, it will crystallize all your hurt and fear. In the bright flame of your consciousness, you will melt it away. All the things which you once knew, when time did not exist, shall be again. For they are the truth. The knowledge of fire is yours, you have but forgotten it for a moment.
What does this mean? The question determines the answer. Everything is within your power.
The songs you are listening to I recorded with drummer Nick Barker in the UK. Nick was a founding and longtime member of Cradle of Filth, and drummer of Dimmu Borgir.

ABOUT ME:

* I try to be as kind, to myself and to others, as I can, as this seems like the most likely way I will be continually happy and satisfied.

* To be continuously happy and satisfied is the underlying goal of my life.

* To be continuously happy and satisfied is the underlying goal of your life.

* People can and should do whatever they want, as long as it is of no detriment to my pursuit of my own happiness.

* I have a deep love of humanity. I know it's trendy to say you hate people, especially if you are young and want to appear cool, but I don't. I love them. On the other hand, I LOATHE rudeness, inconsiderate behavior, arrogance, racism, sexism, separatism, intimidation, coercion and especially disrespect (which latter pretty much somes up all of the former).

* A person's sexuality is no more their choice than the color of their hair or skin. Stop trying to fix what isn't broken. Let's focus on what really needs to change, which is that society needs to become a meritocracy - there are a lot of things that need to change, and the people who are best able to effect that change are the ones who ought to be in charge of effecting it. Even if they are a one legged Lesbian Jew.

* I love the imagery of Nazi Germany, and simultaneously feel terrible about what they did to the 'untermenschen'. I think I love it because of the sense of mastery and strength it projected. Part of me wants to believe it, but deep down of course I know that they were the moochers in Ayn Rand's philosophy, who ultimately hated life. This, and my father fought in the RAF in WWII, losing many of his friends and sustaining permanent burns. The Nazis took the beautiful strength and inventive creativity of the (still) virile and young nation of Germany, and consumed it, bringing their own and most of the other nations of Europe to ruin. Their philosophy, dressed in the trappings of nationalist and racial pride, was one of weakness and lack - scarcity theory, exactly like the motive values of the current U.S. administration. People don't remember that Germany is in fact the youngest nation of any import in the world. 100 years younger than the USA.

* Racism is a self-propagating form of mental retardation. People are the same the world over. Everyone has the same needs - but not everyone is born equal. People have different strengths and weaknesses. Some are born leaders, some contribute best when they do not have to shoulder the burden of responsibility for others; and some people need to be told what to do to be their most productive. Some people are gifted in language, some music, some mathematics, some have emotional intelligence but not academic. However, it is necessary to afford everyone certain rights, in the interest of making sure that everyone reaches their maximum potential. In this way shall we create the greatest prosperity for all, and hasten our evolution.

* Religion is incomprehensible to me, an anachronistic form of mind control invented by the ancient elite of the first large cultures. It is currently happily supported by the state, as, if you're religious, they don't have to spend the time and money on indoctrinating you not to think, while they enslave you psychologically, emotionally, spiritually and financially.Do you feel you really need that new car, or i-pod, or Playstation? What's the current terror threat level? How much debt are you in?

* Education should receive the primary expenditure of government, because it is the only thing which can ensure continued prosperity, even, and especially, for the elite. It is the worst kind of short-sightedness, motivated by greed, not to see this. The current situation in the United States is that education is knowingly being dummed down, because the powers that be think that their interests are best served by having a weak, fearful, ignorant and superstitious population. They think if the population is stupid, they will more easily be able to retain control, whilst farming it for money, which is their power. The truth is that all that is needed to solve all poverty and lack in this country, and in the world, is that we teach each and every man, woman and child the ability to think critically. If we can do this, everyone will be able to self-educate.

* If every man, woman and child who is able to think critically is taught how to do so, they will be able to realize the central issue to all happiness, and control of their internal and external environment, and all the problems of war and lack in the world will be solved. It is this: every person, whether they realize it or not, is the creator of themselves; is the creator of the prosperity or the destitution in their lives. There is a story of two identical twin brothers who came from a home where they were sexually and physically abused. At 35 years old, one was in prison for raping a woman (and it wasn't the first time he'd been behind bars for sexual assault); and the other was CEO of a successful self-help book publishing company, and a successful motivational speaker. Each was asked this question: "Why did you turn out the way you did?" Each answered "How could I have turned out otherwise?"

* "The weakest soul, knowing its own weakness, and believing this truth - that strength can only be developed by effort and practice, will at once begin to exert itself, and adding effort to effort, patience to patience, and strength to strength, will never cease to develop, and will at last grow divinely strong." - James Allen

*

* I don't even understand the concept of God. I am God. The entire universe resides in my mind. That which is outside it is unknown to me and does not exist - until I discover it, and it begins to exist.

* The original American constitution is awesome because it assumes that the natural state of people is happiness, and the natural order of the world is abundance. This is the truth.

* Capitalism rocks. There is nothing wrong with competition, and there aren't losers. Those who invent and make the best ideas, products and services benefit us all, and more wealth is created every day by capitalist systems than ever previously existed. There is no exception to this rule. It is an evolutionary expansion of evolution itself. Adapt or die.

* Poverty and chronic malnutrition will only be eradicated when the greater portion of human knowledge is available to every person, everywhere. Give a man a fish, and it will feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will feed himself for life. Teach a man to learn, and he will teach himself how to fish and go on to invent the deep sea trawler. It's true.

* Bill Gates completely rocks. See above point.

* When the greater portion of human knowledge, in its current state, is available to every person, everywhere, there will be no more poverty, hunger or war.

* Arnold Schwarzenegger completely rocks. He always has been, and always will be my hero.

* Anthony Robbins is also my hero.

* The general trend of the universe is evolution. That is to say that all matter is evolving into more complex systems all the time. Eventually the universe will self-organize into information and knowledge (the meaningful connection of information).

* The US is in Iraq to stabilize our oil supply, and to have a military presence to keep the other oil-producing nations in check through fear of invasion. In other words, to put the people of the Arab nations in direct fear of the safety of their bodies. No need to indoctrinate them, they already have their mind control software installed. Divide and conquer - the region has been allowed to become destabilized so that rival Islamic/tribal elements will destroy each other. In the meantime, the area remains in foment. That's not because the US couldn't restore order in short shrift, but because that's the way the US wants it, to keep us distracted, and to keep the surrounding nations in fear and dependency.

* The current administration is the most deleterious to this country of any administration ever as far as I can see. They've destroyed the position of the dollar as the underpinning currency of world trade. Dick Cheney is the personification of avarice. Condoleezza Rice is one of the smartest people in the world, but has no soul. They should be locked in iron boxes buried beneath the earth, at the two opposite extremes of the earth, so as never to enable each other again. Oh, and president Bush is a well-meaning, nice enough fellow, but I think they work him too hard. Still, he's probably happy most of the time.

* Death is not inevitable. It is a disease that will be curable within 30 years, as will stupidity. I am a singularitarian.

* I believe that nature and the environment are sacred, and that no one should ever harm either of them, for any reason. We have the technology to stop using fossil fuels completely, right now. We've had it for more than 50 years. If the economies of scale of fossil fuel production were translated to sustainable energy, it would cost a fraction of what it costs to produce fossil fuels now. Everyone would be better off, except the oil companies. Then again, look what the abolition of slavery did to the slave trade - an acceptable loss? I think so. The sun should be useful for about another 5,000,000,000 years, and I don't think that the wind or rivers will be used up any time soon. Know what I mean? Yeah...
