About Me

"YAKAMOZ" , THE CURRENT CD OF ENSEMBLE FISFÃœZ HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR THE GERMAN RECORD REVIEW AWARD!
FISFÃœZ WILL PRESENT THEIR NEW LIVE ALBUM "GOLDEN HORN IMPRESSIONS" ON 9TH OF NOVEMBER 2008 AT E-WERK FREIBURG!!
Annette Maye studied jazz clarinet at Cologne Conservatory of Music from 2001-2005. Claudio Puntin, Frank Gratkowski and Paulo Alvares have been her main teachers there. In 2004/2005 she spent 7 months with a scholarship at the "Conservatoire National" in Paris.
In 1995 she had founded the oriental jazz ENSEMBLE FISFÃœZ along with percussion player Murat Coskun. ENSEMBLE FISFÃœZ has been winner of the SWR worldmusic award in 1998 and played concerts on festivals in Western-, Eastern, and Southern Europe as well as in Morrocco, Tunisia an Iran (European Music Festival Teheran).
She is clarinetist of SCHÄL SICK BRASS BAND which reached no. 12 of the European World Music Charts with their CD "Prasti Music" in summer 2006. In 2007/08 the band toured to Taiwan, Japan, South Corea and Morocco, and performed together with famous egyptian pop singer Mohamed Mounir.
Annette has started the duo worldmusic project DOYNA, performing a kind of KlezmerJazzFunk together with guitar player Martin Schulte. With BANDA METAFISICA, conducted by Nicolao Valiensi from Tuscany/Italia, she plays music which is influenced from the tradition of italian Banda music as well as from Jazz . She engages herself in 20th century trio compositions by Bartók and Khatchaturian as well as in contemporary music with trio MUSAI (http://www.myspace.com/musai3) and has explored JAMES CHOICE ORCHESTRA which combines contemporary music with improvisation. Improvised music is also the subject of her duo with PAUL HUBWEBER (trombone).
With DANIEL SPEER TRIO (Daniel Speer/bass, Mirek Pyschny/dr) she released the new Jazz-CD "Spaces" (Konnex Records) in summer 2008. She also joines the quartet NEW GATE with Andreas Erchinger (piano), Daniel Schay (drums) and Rolf Breyer (bass).
