Absinthe Bride

Oh, my sweet, sad love, what face won't you wear?

About Me

Orestes Pursued by the Furies
( William Bourguereau , 1862)

I am Tisiphone of The Erinyes, I am Nemhain of The Morrigan, I am Alecto and Megaera,
I am Badb and Macha,
My nest ash, as feathers, as bone,
awaiting rebirth.
I am Fury and Phoenix.

From The Aberdeen Bestiary .
Okay, really I'm just Shari from Athens, Georgia. Photographer, writer, I sing and write songs and play just enough guitar to back myself (damn barre chords!) here in my living room. I draw, I bead, I crochet, you know, Jack of all trades, master of none. Wife, mother of two, and I share my home with two cats and a dog. We used to have two rabbits and two parakeets, too, but they live with my mother now, sainted caretaker of pet overflow.
On my list of "Used to:" my husband and I used to run a regular poetry reading here at the 283 Bar and at the Go Bar called The Red Lucite Kitchen and 1,000 years ago my husband and our best friend were The Missouri Breaks who played all over Athens including at Club Fred, otherwise known as the basement of the Pizza Inn on Baxter.
On the photography front, I am available for wedding and band photography, non-traditional portraiture, and small press work. If you need something not listed here, try me, I'm open to suggestion.
The Night Ken Left
c. 2006
This is one of my photographs called The Night Ken Left. A personal favorite.
Unable to deal with Barbie's shallowness and her schizophrenic need to switch careers every week, also dealing with hidden and unspoken insecurities about certain lackings of his own, Ken heads out, leaving his girl to work it out on the bathroom floor with a bottle of Pernod...
