JUNCTURE Book and CD, Large-Scale Collaboration

About Me

Layout Created at KillerKiwi.net
JUNCTURE is a large-scale arts collaboration featuring 50 of the finest artists of our generation. The work includes a book, JUNCTURE: 25 VERY GOOD STORIES AND 12 EXCELLENT DRAWINGS, published by Soft Skull Press, and JUNCTURE, the CD, by Pi Recordings.
Our artists range from world-renound to cutting edge up-and-comers. Carl Hancock Rux, Vernon Reid, Jonathan Lethem, DJ Spooky and Jorge Pardo all contributed. We began with the stories, and artists created drawings to go in the "exhibit," and then composers created songs based on those same stories. The results are stunning. Please see sample writings from our blog, and the beginnings of stories that go with these songs here. Exerpts of Rux's brilliant liner notes are also included. More drawings are displayed under "pics."

"Juncture is just what it says it is: very good." MONTREAL MIRROR
"The stories in Juncture are richly rewarding...the writers are engaging, talented and fresh. The Juncture CD is equally strong, and a great listening experience." MUGSHOT
"Juncture defies our expectations from the first page....an inspired coming together" OTHER VOICES
"Teachers of Creative writing on the lookout for an anthology that assembles experimental work by pioneering writers in that field will be excited by Juncture.....Lethem's piece can be read as an absurdist annihilation of fiction-as-dream, but, like many of the stories in Juncture, it performs a perfect act of deconstruction." REVIEW OF CONTEMPORARY FICTION
" In a literary world where either sullen math or indulgent memoir (or a combination of the two) seems to rule, Juncture is a welcome oddity - you'll think about some of the stories for days and days afterwards and not be pissed off as I usually am." SOME GUY ON AMAZON
"The combined feat of Juncture-- on the page and streaming from the speakers-- is a multisensory experience that makes sense for today and bodes well for tomorrow." JAZZIZ
" A fascinating document of modern music that is of the here and now." ONE FINAL NOTE
