The Homosexuals Story so far.......... Conceived on the !4th floor of a high rise squat in 1978 in Battersea South London, overlooking The River Thames, The Homosexuals started life on a high note and have continued to oscillate wildly between floors ever since.Founding members Bruno Wizard and Anton Hayman continue their mission together to shine a light for artists trawling their way through the wreckage of the traditonal "music industry"They formed Britains first truly independent label Black Noise Records in 1978 and have forever remained outside of a corrupt, enslaving industry having predicted the ultimate fall of the aforementioned industry In 1979 Bruno met and married an internationally acclaimed performance artist/painter/multi media experimentalist called Susan Vida. She moved into a squat in Bloomsbury that The Homosexuals occupied with three hundred other drifting souls. They immediately recognised a common need to work freely as artists and promptly issued a manifesto to the music industry proclaiming their intention to do just that and work as artists unfettered by the Babylonian demands of the flesh eating music industry. They proclaimed the birth of an international community of free-spirited artists called " We International " of whom The Homosexuals were in the vanguard of the peaceful offensive. Susan Vida proceeded to introduce an art punk ethos which had not been immediately apparent previously in The Homosexuals who had been concentrating solely on recording and performing in the bleak atmosphere that prevailed in the post punk emasculation of 1978.During that time The Homosexuals had initiated a D.I.Y ethic into their creative output of limited edition vinyl and self made artwok, covers and labels Whilst Susan Vida does not feature musically on the early classic recordings of The Homosexuals, she collaborated with Bruno and Anton both severally and individually in a multi discipline/art/media context. She became the archivist of the band having realised that there were not enough conscious people in any given place at at any one time to appreciate The Homosexuals work. To this effect she took it upon herself to catalogue in photograph/film/and slide everything she could of The Homosexuals work culminating in some recordings that she made with The Homosexuals collaborating with her on material that showed a radical departure from their previously eclectic material. She also has avast visual treasure trove of visual and art material of band members acquired during the years that they all lived together in squats around London. All will be revealed at some point in the future. These recordings will be released soon along with newly unearthed gems that Susan Vida has kept lovingly these past twenty five years in her creative archives. Included in these are some tracks recorded " LIve At The Wag Club" in 1980 in London. Anton had magically acquired The Rolling Stones Mobile 24 track recording studio belonging to the legendary Tom Newman who engineered the ground breaking " Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield" to come and record the gig. In the best tradition of The Homosexuals, the masters were somehow lost forever until Susan Vida "found" a cassette of very rough mixes of the event. This tape showed up in 2005 along withtapes of her collaboration with The Homosexuals. These lost gems featuring the unparalled production skills of Anton Hayman will be surfacing at some point for public digestion and approval, thus shining more light on the lost years of the band and also the origins of their art punk/performance credentials through their collaborations with Susan Vida.As predicted in their manifesto of 1979, it took twenty five years for the world to be ready for The HomosexualsIn the same way you can not stop an idea whose time has come equally you can not make an idea come before its time. The Homosexuals time is here not only for themselves but for the myriad young artists of this present generation who they nurture with information and contacts.Bruno and Anton were re-united in 2006 and have been working on vast numbers of tracks that have been built up over the years. They have just finished a a new album modestly entitled " The Album Of The Year!!!" available here for download, with many others in the pipeline.Their dedicated official website called www.astralglamour.com will be uploaded soon with lots of innovations typical of The Homosexuals need to create at the frontier of melodious technology
