Angela Abelian is a singer and songwriter from Russia, based in London and Moscow.
She defines her style as Jazz-based with strong Russian and Gypsy influencies. "I realised I have absorbed the influences from all sorts of music, - she comments, - while earliest influencies were Russian and Soviet music, my first idol was Elvis (the one and only), and of course I loved the perfection of the Beatles songs, but my true falling in love with music came with the discovery of the jazz world. I value the song, the lyrics in evergreen jazz standards, as well as the musical freedom and the human voice - these are the elements of freedom to me".
She dedicated herself to crafting the voice with one of the world's best vocal technics, and is developing her songwriting style which combines the richness of jazz chords with more "related" song form. "The song to me is not only "expressing myself", a true song engages the listener and makes him sing".
