The tracks you are listening to are compiled from the latest SongLink CD of new songs by some of our many subscribers, which we issue twice a year (January and July) and send out free to A&R executives, producers and managers etc. Click the CD cover to hear all the latest songs, and also to browse the CD archive.
I'm also into music, memorabilia, movies, gigs and playing drums - check out my first blog (scroll right down) for more info and a brief clip. I also run my own band
The Dave Stark Five playing the first or second Friday of each month at The Blandford Club (formerly the Cricketers Club) off Baker Street. We play classic rock covers, often with some very special guests such as Randy Bachman (of Bachman-Turner Overdrive), Denny Laine (ex-Moody Blues & Wings), Jim Diamond the great Scottish singer/songwriter, Lou Jordan, the best Elvis tribute artist in the business, and others. Entry is free, so check the next date on our Myspace page and come on down. We can also offer occasional guest spots for singer/songwriters if you ask nicely.
"Piece Of My Heart" by the Dave Stark Five featuring Aria Rosa,
live at the Blandford Club, London 2008.

Meanwhile my old 70s band Riviera Feedback re-formed in 2006 for our first gigs in 30 years. Sadly our main singer, songwriter and keyboard player David Kent, who was also a well known London music lawyer at Seddons, died on October 18th 2007 from pancreatic cancer. We can't believe he's gone, he was one of the best mates anyone could have, and a huge music afficianado.. but his music lives on, and we will be remembering him at special memorial event early next year. At the end of 2006 we went into the studio to record our first session in nearly three decades, with special guest singer Estelle Kokot. All these acts found songs through SongLink.
Could you write hits for them and others?
Get your songs cut - Do you have great songs suitable to be covered by recording artists who don't write all their own material? New original songs are constantly required by international acts in all musical genres, from pop and rock to dance, R&B/urban, country and MOR, in all the world's major music markets. Or they may need co-writers, producers, tracks to add top-lines to or beats, etc.
What we do - SongLink International is the world's most acclaimed tipsheet and songplugging resource, used by music publishers and songwriters all over the globe. We provide monthly tips (leads) detailing which artists are looking for songs, what kind of material is required, and - most importantly - their correct contact details, enabling you to pitch your songs directly to their A&R person, manager or producer, by their prefered format - CD, mp3, or links to your website or Myspace page.
What we don't do - We are not an agency, song broker or music publisher. We don't take a cut of your songs, we just charge a subscription fee for the information (leads) we provide. We don't get involved in the actual pitching of songs as we send you the direct contact details for each lead. We don't get involved in negotations for use of a song for covers or licensing, or offer legal advice - the majority of our clients are music industry professionals who know the business well.
Our track record - Established since 1993, SongLink's success includes finding songs for such names as Christina Aguilera, N 'Sync, Cliff Richard, Mis-Teeq, Tom Jones, Hi 5, the Ten Tenors and tons of other artists - many of whom you may not have heard of, but who are top-selling acts in their own country. In fact our biggest area of success is for artists in mainland Europe, where strong commercial songs are always in big demand, for recording (mostly) in English or translation into other languages. But we get leads from everywhere, including the UK, Ireland, USA/Canada, Australia and SE Asia.
Sample Leads - Want to find out more? Click here for examples of leads previously published in Songlink, along with testimonials from some of our many satisfied subscribers, and companies who have placed successful leads in SongLink resulting in hit songs. SongLink has been a huge source of contacts and global music industry networking for over 12 years, and has many loyal subscribers and advertisers, for whom our service is an indispensable element of their business.
Quality control - OK, so you may be interested in joining SongLink, but do you have the right type of material for covers? We are very selective about who we accept as subscribers, and if you are not an established writer or music publisher, than we need to listen to 2-3 of your songs in order to approve your subscription application. You need to have well-produced demos, suitable for pitching to busy industry professionals who are used to receiving high-standard material from SongLink members.
