In fact, we were just trying to hang out - Johan had recently arrived to Sundsvall from Cape town, Henric from Duesseldorf and Mart home from work - but instead we recorded three songs during five days in our homely studio. Johan insisted on sharing his fever virus, causing rather an epidemic in our little village Valla, but in fact, it was only for the better! This was in November 2007.
Songs recorded: "Sunshine Every Day", "I Pray Sir, Can You Read?", "I Supposed I've Shocked You"
During three weeks in March 2008 we continued combing the strings, as Johan was in Sundsvall to apprentice chimneymanship and Henric was home to drive around in town, listening to Early morning rain and Rank stranger, picking up Martin after work whenever he got off. We were lucky enough to convince Gunnar Carlén (Second Hand Rumours, The Altogether Nows) to lay down some rippin bass for the new tracks, and, from the same bands, we got Johans bro Marcus to add angelic guitar licks and tender back-up vocals to the intricate picture weaves.
Songs recorded: "Southpaw" (feat. verse guitar work from Alexander Persson), "The Season for Us"
May!
Recorded "A Bell of Bronze", the bulk of the song was done during a Saturday, then we spent some more time polishing and de-polishing, getting some electric guitar work out of Marcus, who hung around joyously, generating classic guitar Scatman covers.
June
Henric moved back home to Sundsvall, and Johan moved to his house, so for now, geography is on our side. We started recorded "Suddenly Molly", then started planning & scheming!
July-August
We started rehearsing, with Marcus on the electric guitar. While finishing "Suddenly Molly" in August (with Gunnar Carlén back at the bass guitar), we started up a few new songs, currently being worked on, one of them a little ditty called "Why she wanted to stay at home".
Played our first show locally while our first show out of town was postponed on us.
FALL!
The three of us are working on new songs and rehearsing an acoustic set!
