I was born in Bangor, Maine. I learned to love old time country music from my Dad . I was always too busy to actually sit down an learn to play, but in 2005 my Brother, Lester Norton , found some old reel-to-reel recordings, put them on a CD, and gave it to me.
I sang a lot karaoke at the Happy Rooster in Philadelphia and always wished I could play and sing on my own, so I decided to get off my ass an learn how to play the guitar I bought a few years prior.
I played my first open mic at the Tritone in Philadelphia hosted by Jason Jefferies from BuddhaZen . I started playing Hank Williams', "My Bucket's Got A Hole In It" and by the time I finished I had a full band playing behind me including Paul Edelman on electric guitar, Jason Jefferies on drums, a bassist, and some guy playing harmonica. It was probably the best first experience anyone could have, especially since I decided to start playing after less than two months after picking up the guitar. Thanks a lot guys!
Shortly after that Rose from the Rooster gave me my first paying gig.
I am currently in the Orlando, FL area and am looking forward to hitting some open mikes and getting my first Florida gig, so stay tuned.
