New writers. New writing.
Playwrights, directors, actors, theatre makers, anyone interested in new writing for the stage. Get in touch: [email protected]
SourFeast Theatre began with four tired playwrights in a room. Two years later, SourFeast is now a collective of over 40 writers, directors and actors, all interested in supporting new writing for the stage.
The SourFeast Sunday Open Readings were set up and designed as an opportunity for playwrights to perform their works-in-progress infront of an audience, in the manner of a ‘scratch night’.
Our events give writers the opportunity to experiment with their work, to collaborate with actors, directors and other writers, and to hear their work read in front of an audience. For new writing in the early stages this process can be a helpful step for continuing work on a script. Check out our blogs for details on how to get involved.
Our events are FREE and we intend to keep them as such, but we ask our audience to give written feedback on the work they see. Constructive critisism, comments, praise or queries are more than welcome – in fact, they are essential! The audience are always invited to stay and take part in more informal discussion with the writers and creative team after the event – usually over a drink.
Come down to a great Brixton bar and enjoy a relaxed evening of theatre with us. If you are a writer, and you'd like to be involved, please contact us. Email: [email protected] or leave us a message on this site.
