About Me

First, Jacob has a really nice name (thanks to both the Sam and La Rose families). Second, Jacob writes some really nice poetry. He writes lots of other things as well, including plays, short stories, and irreverant myspace biogs. He's been described as "the backbone of the London poetry scene" which isn't quite as painful as it sounds. He has performed all over the world in some very interesting places, such as the Museum of Modern Art in Helsinki, the Center of Contemporary Art in Glasgow, Mylos Theatre in Greece, Chicago State University, and London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, as well as a broad range of more conventional poetry and spoken word spots. When he performs, he has a forgivable tendency to over-use his hands...

As if that's not enough, Jacob is incredibly community orientated. He's the Managing Editor and Founder of the metaroar mailing lists (sign up via www.metaroar.com ), which are pretty much essential if you're a poet or writer in London, or even if you just want to know where the next interesting gig or reading is. He's also started a series of creative writing community initiatives and does a lot of work in support of young and developing poets and writers ( http://foundry.metaroar.com , for example...)
So, to sum up: nice name; nice poetry; nice hands; nice work. Nice guy? You decide...
