About Me

I am a writer/poet/songwriter/performer born Andreattah Chuma in ’81.…had my first romance with the word in 2003.I am a member of Botswana’s renowned Exodus Live Poetry Collective, who have given Batswana youth a platform for self - expression. As a solo poet, I have performed at various places in South Africa including Horror Cafe,Divine Lounge,SongWriter's Club,Constitution Hill & Yfm. I have shared the stage with Kojo Baffoe,Afurakhan,Flo,Napo Masheane,Lebo Mashile,Sonya Renee,Joolz Denby,John Akpata,Sophia Blackwell , Kabomo, Zubz, Nthabi, Comrade Fatso,MXO,Kwani Experience.. I’m also part of the British Council Power in the Voice Project in which I mentor high school students on the art of poetry.In 2006 I was invited by Hammer & Tongue UK to represent Africa(together with South Africa's Kojo Baffoe) as part of the Four Continents Slam tour that took me around the following cities: Cambridge , Oxford , Nottingham , Newcastle , Leeds , London , Leicester ,Bristol ,Bolton, Brighton, Reading in England and Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland.I was crowned the slam champion in Nottingham & Cambridge.I am currently working on my debut spoken word album set for release by the end of 2009...
