THE HORROR CAST

Cities of Deception OUT NOW!!!

About Me

In the summer of 2006 a local, young and fairly well known Metal band by the name of To the Grave changed their identity to The Horror Cast. In deceiving their former self the band strived to improve and evolve, surpassing the boundaries of generic music along the way and coming up with a sound that is with the help of their influences entirely their own. A sound that they like to refer to as Horror Metal. An amalgamation of technical, melodic, progressive Death Metal and horror movie inspired subject matter. However, the horror does not end with the lyrics nor does it begin. It is also an attribute of the actual music. The band play frighteningly evil sounding riffs, enough to make the bloodthirsty cringe.Through their energetic and chaotic live performance, THC have garnered a dedicated fan base and continue to win over Metal supporters and even the unconverted show after show. Now with the release of their highly anticipated debut EP titled “Cities of Deception,” the creatures that make up The Horror Cast is set to bludgeon a furious dent in the South African Metal scene and spread the horror all over the country. Keep a watchful eye on these monsters.
THIS WILL END IN A BLOODY TRAGEDY
THIS IS HORROR
CITIES OF DECEPTION PRESS RELEASE
PURE HORROR METAL
Finally, after well over a year and a half of many shows, procrastination, disagreements, band problems, member changes and label discussions, The Horror Cast present their highly anticipated and needless to say long-overdue debut EP.The CD will be released independently on the 3rd of August at the Independent Armchair Theatre, and then on the following night at Wynberg Sports Club. It is self-produced, engineered and marketed. The decision to release it independently came after the band left Murdercall Records. “Cities of Deception” is only but a teaser of things to come from this band. But what a teaser it is. Combining elements from nearly every sub-genre of the Metal universe while maintaining a signature sound. If you like your brutality with melody, this is a release to check out. With 6 songs on the EP, it is certainly not lacking in material. Clocking in around 25 minutes, the band will take you on a deceitful journey through the horror ending in the climactic and epic “The Fallen Ages.” “Divided Paths” is bound to make you sing along and the sheer progression of “Werewolves” will have your knickers in a knot. The band has big plans for the rest of the year. Prepare to be horrified. The mutilation is upon us.
