Hailing from the most Southern point of the darkest continent, the force known as Noctivian was formed. On the 06/06/06, right in the heart of the African winter, us, a group of like-minded metallers, gathered and wanted to give Africa something that they had not experienced or even seen in this country before... a really extreme, brutal and heavy black metal act! Taking influences from bands like Dark Funeral, Emperor, 1349, Misteltein, Marduk, Naglfar, Gorgoroth, Dawn, Dissection and Dimmu Borgir, etc. and mixing it with the brutality and aggression of bands like Behemoth, Zyklon, Hate Eternal and Nile (just to mention a few) and see what we could do with our music and what it would come out sounding like. Five months later we went on to headline the Whiplash Metal festival 2006 as our debut show to see what the response from the people would be towards what we are doing. It was a great success and we instantly got the respect and attention of many a metal head. We now go on to try set a new level of standard for metal in S.A. and an international standard for ourselves as we take off on a long dark mission to try put S.A. extreme metal on the world map by hopefully braking free from the black hole that is the S.A. metal scene and eventually after recording and getting our music out to the rest of the world, getting the attention of and overseas record label and making way for the future bands coming out of the country. The band is now signed to EMPYREAN.We have taken a leave of absence from playing live and recruited two new members [lead guitarist and keyboardist] and wrote a new set which will be unleashed at EMPYREAN FEST 2007.Our first single "I am God" will be available through EMPYREAN along with other exclusive material soon.
