The band was formed in early 2004 by Guitarist Mortem (Age 16 at the time).
In that same year he recruited Vinter as the Vocalist (Age 14 at the time).
A drummer and guitarist later joined the band, only to leave soon therafter as practices were a complete fuckup.
Ron and Julian continued their practices and later recruited Tempest on Guitars and Dean on drums, but due to circumstances Dean had to part from the band. They have gained a new drummer now (2008), Lord Impious.
The band’s current line-up is stronger than previous attempts and more capable of achieving success. They recently gained a Bassist after a very long search. Now that they have a full set of members, they strive to take the bull by the horns.
All the members live within Cape Town with a variety of influences ranging from Death Metal, Black Metal and other Classical influences.
The band is an experimental Black and Death Metal band.
Their love of both Black and Death Metal compells them to combine both styles, thus bringing forth RigorMortem’s unique style of Black-Death.
