The Scuttlers

About Me

Scuttlers are an affiliation of musicians and artists that have played music sporadically since 1997.We play traditional folk instruments with a boots and all attitude that reflects our Australain perspective. The Heathen Death Barrels was our early band name that led to the e.p title.'' Michael (violin)came in at the end of the e.p recording and did some amazing sessions particularly on the track Cleggan which he hadn't really heard untill he was in doing the takes. The Heathens giged around Sydney in the late 1990'sand had as stint in the early 2000's.The Chigago based radio station "Paddy Rock" picked up "Whisky in the jar" and included it on Paddy Rock Volume 1 cheers ! www.paddyrock.comGeof Holmes is guitarist producer and driving force of the sound. He has developed from 70's punk to now encompass a broad palate of styles and projects recenty focusing more on singer songwriting with a batch of songs that will be produced under the Scuttler flag. We are heading towards releasing an album in September. Songs that would be defined as rock and roll wii be released under "THe Scoundrels of the Antipodes'' banner. With a variation ( Fiona the harp player get's frightened when it gets too loud and runs offstage!) in line up. We anticipate a double c.d with the Scuttlers (Acoustic) and Scoundrel's ( Electric) This is how our live set run.our songs are currently on rotation @highlander celtic radio please feel free to request us! there is a link @celtic radio in our top friends IF YOU WANT TO CHECK OUT GEOF'S BLISTERING GUITAR PLAYING CLICK THE GEOF HOLMES ICON IN SCUTTLERS FRIENDSTHE SCUTTLERS SONGS ARE CURRENTLY ON ROTATION @ CETLIC RADIO, YOUR WELCOME TO SHOW SUPPORT BY REQUESTING OUR SONGS. Sounds Like: Review from Sydney Morning Herald says.Celtic flavored paganism emerges in dense, swirling, dancable songs lent a bewitching edge by the vocals.Review from Sydney drum media says 'A music addressed by traditional jigs and reels with buzzsaw guitar sensibility. the Scuttlers are very much an original entity.
