About Me

www.myspaceeditor.itBorn in Paris in 1981, from chinese and lebanese origins, Ameylia Saad grew up in Reunion Island. She began her musical life with harp lessons and she sang in children operas. Between 1999 and 2005 she lived in Aix-en-Provence. She got the Musicology degree at the University of Aix-en-Provence and the “Certificat de Fin d’Etudes Musicales” of classic harp at the National School of Music of Aix-en-Provence before specialising herself in the National Conservatory of Music of Marseille with the “Certificat de Fin d’Etudes Musicales”and the “Diplome d’Etudes Musicales” of celtic harp. In 2004, she got the 1rst prize in honour level at the Artistic Competition of Epinal and the 1srt unanimously prize in superior level at the UFAM Competition. One year later, she received, always from the UFAM competition, the 1srt prize in honour level for her interpretation of “Suite kimriste” by Jean-Louis Dhaine. In 2007, she was involved as a jury member at this same competition. She improved during some masterclasses with Marie-Claire Jamet, Janet Harbison, Anne-Marie O’Farrell, Asita Hamidi, Dominig Bouchaud, Park Stickney, Louis Sclavis, Eddie McGuire. Liking the stages, she manages herself in “Femmes-Féeries”, a fairy tale that she shows in the “10èmes Journées de la Harpe” in Arles in 2004. At the same festival, at the final concert, she plays the sonate “Discorde” by Dominig Bouchaud, choreographed and interpreted by the dancer-mime Jean-Charles Piano. Passionated by the enchanting character of the Mermaid, she composes a personal repertoire for her voice and the celtic harp. Since 2005 she lives in Italy too. She performs herself in recitals for “l’Alliance française” and the town of Milano. In 2006 she runs a workshop around “Femmes-Féeries” and her compositions for the 1st Harp Pop Festival of Monza. In 2007 for the Festival “I Concerti nel Chiostro” she interprets with orchestra her compositon “For a celtic friend”(orchestra director: Stefano Menegale, orchestra arrangment: Guido Facchini). She presents a recital “Il mio sogno celtico”, welcomed in the Triennale Gallery of Milano. This year she plays her compositions voice and celtic harp in the exhibition “Vento leggero che parli con voce di foglie” by the artist Fernando De Filippi at the Bel Art Gallery of Milano. After a first cycle of celtic inspiration, she is preparing new compositions colorated of ethnic and new-age music. Ameylia Saad is also diplomated in lyric singing and performs herself like soprano solist in operas and recitals. (Go to visit: www.myspace.com/ameyliaaadsoprano)
