In 1993 he received a scholarship from the SIAE for "Music and Film" taught by Carlo Savina in Genoa. From 1993 to 1995, Claudio Gabriele studied "computer music" at New York University; from 1997 to 2004 pursued several stages on computer music at IRCAM in Paris with B. Ferneyhough, M. Lindberg, J. Harvey, J. Rebotier, M. A. Dalbavie, M. Levinas; studied electronic music with J.C. Risset, C. Roads, D. Terruggi and G. Di Giugno at the Center for Musical Research in Rome. In 2003 Claudio Gabriele won the first prize of “International Electroacoustic Music Musica Nova” of Prague with the acousmatic composition "Ombra nell'azzurro."
To promote and expand interactive shows of music, dance, images and electroacoustic sounds he founded in 1996 the “Synthesis Ensemble”. From 1994 to 2003 Claudio Gabriele worked as composer and guest lecturer at “New York University”, then collaborated with the University of Strasbourg, Juilliard School, Vanderbilt University. In 2005-2006 he was "composer in residence" at Conservatories d'Aix en Provence and Nimes where he received numerous commissions for solo, duo, trio, ensemble, and large symphony orchestra. In 2005 the encounter with the visual artist Albiolo was an opportunity to explore the connections between sounds and colours; their common interest in this new language focussed them to develop a search for a symbiosis of visual and musical medium; this collaboration has lead to public concerts where music is intersected to projection of "diachromies."
