Fighting Fire With Love

By caring for humanity YOU can put out the "fires" of the world

About Me

Mission Statement:
To show people how they can get involved in their communities and in the world. To offer opportunities for you to volunteer with non-profit, charity, and humanitarian organizations.
History:
FFWL began with the Southern California Wildfires (October 2007) and is now expanding. When we saw all the devastation the fires were causing we wanted to do something about it. So we set up this MySpace as a way to give out information about how those affected by the fires could get help. Since then we have basically transitioned into a place to show people all the ways they can help their fellow humans.
What we do:
FFWL posts blogs, bulletins, and comments letting you know how you can be involved in humanitarian work. We often repost bulletins of our non-profit organization friends. We feature a different non-profit organization every month. We post a monthly diversity calendar. We also put on our own events such as Sack-Lunch Saturday (where we feed the homeless).
How you can help:
Read our bulletins, blogs, and comments. Put us in your top friends. Repost our bulletins. Tell your friends about us. Put our banner on your page. Be part of our events. If you can offer help, post a comment explaining how you can help.
If you need help:
Send us a message or post a comment letting us know what we can do for you.
Coming Soon:
T-shirts, stickers, etc.
More FFWL events
Why our friends are randomized:
So you can see all the organizations out there you can be involved with and so you can see all the people out there getting involved in their communities and in our world! Each time you come to our page or hit refresh our top friends are randomized.

This Month’s Featured Organization is the Keep A Breast Foundation
The Keep A Breast Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. Their mission is to help eradicate breast cancer by exposing young people to methods of prevention, early detection and support. Through art events, educational programs, and fundraising efforts, they seek to increase breast cancer awareness among young people so they are better equipped to make choices and develop habits that will benefit their long-term health and well being.
Combining sculpture, philanthropy, and symbolic artistry, The Keep A Breast Foundation is a breast cancer awareness organization unlike any other. For example, KAB creates one-of-a-kind plaster forms of the female torso that are customized by fine artists and auctioned to raise consciousness and funding for breast cancer research and treatment. The casts are physical representations of a simple truth—while breast cancer attacks all women without prejudice, it is the powerful individual present in all women that will conquer it. KAB’s goal is to bring a fresh perspective to this important cause in a way that is relevant and inspiring to today’s youth.
Keep A Breast had produced events across the globe raising thousands of dollars on behalf of local, national, and international organizations such as the Young Survival Coalition, Susan G. Koman Foundation, The Breast Cancer Fund, Asha-Killgallen Fund, Kapi’olani Breast Center, and Europadonna, to name a few.
Keep A Breast has partnered with companies like Roxy, Macbeth Athletics, Girlz Garage, D.M. Steele, and Creative Deployment in an ongoing effort to fight against breast cancer.

«Pink Ribbon Day Celebration, Australia
«Youth Poster Contest Celebrating “Think Pink Week,” Candad
