About Me

Dave Gill is well-known as a wordsmith – as an award-winning song writer and playwright (incl. The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Author’s Songwriters’ Showcase Winner 1990) and as the author of three books of poetry and three books of fiction. His work has taken him the length and breadth of the country from the Edinburgh Festival to the prestigious Cafe du Piaf in London and his work has been broadcast on the BBC and ITV.Dave is currently Senior Lecturer in English and Creative Writing at Huddersfield University.Dave’s songs are being performed world-wide by numerous Jazz and Blues artists, including JO TAYLOR, whose recording of Dave’s song “Crazy Devil Of A Moon” was selected by Off The Record magazine in the US as an editor’s choice top ten recommended songs for 2007 - also FAITH GIBSON who has recorded superb interpretations of "Too Darn Blue" (Sophie Bancroft and Dave Gill) and "I Think Somebody Loves Me" (Gill).CHECK OUT DAVE’S SONG “LET ME BE WHAT YOU BE TO ME”, MAGNIFICENTLY RECORDED BY MULTI-AWARD-WINNING JAZZ SINGER AND PIANIST LIANE CARROLL AND FEATURED ON HER NEW ALBUM “SLOW DOWN” (SPLASH POINT RECORDS 2007).
