About Me

I WAS THERE, THE SUN WAS OUT AND ANEESA SANG UP A DREAM IN HER SEXY SHOES.... Ian Shaw, BBC Jazz Vocalist 2004
“Aneesa Chaudhry performed interesting takes on jazz and pop standards with exotic charm and a beautiful voice in front of a very appreciative Concert Pitch audience at the National Theatre.” Alessandra Satta, Front-of-House Music Manager, Royal National Theatre
Her performances have been described as an excellent mix of power, style and vocal talent (Simon Jenkins, Weekend Producer, BBC Southern Counties Radio). Aneesa Chaudhry is an Asian songstress interested in capturing both the heart of the audience and in taking them on an inspiring musical workout with her own vocal arrangements of well known classics.
..
Aneesa grew up in a creative Asian household, listening to her father sing on car journeys home from relatives houses, and with the creative blood of a mother who danced traditional Indian dances. She trained as a barrister, but the pull of Aneesa’s creative roots became too strong to ignore. Aneesa is a charismatic and glamorous performer. Her humour, sexuality and warmth of expression provide an entertaining event that highlights her startlingly extensive vocal range. Her versatility embraces tastes & styles ranging from cabaret jazz to a classical repertoire, soul and Indian song. In true diva style she encapsulates each genre with her unique personality.
Aneesa runs voice workshops at www.TheVoiceBox.biz and Camden Music Service. Venues that she has performed in include London’s Astoria, The Edinburgh Festival, Alexandra Palace and various cosy Jazz bars. For further details visit: www.aneesachaudhry.com or call 07957 395 293

Aneesa recorded her CD 'Asian Provocateur' earlier this year with John Crawford. The CD treats listeners to a mix of repertoire ranging from Jazz Standards (The more I see you' to experimental works such as variation on a 'paper nut' based on a motif from a Shankar piece and pieces of an eastern influence (Tera Chehra).
