About Me

Kathleen Graham is considered by many to be one of the leading singers and Clarsach players of her generation within the traditional and folk world. Immersed in her native Gaelic culture and language from the Isle of Skye she is now based in the thriving city of Glasgow where in 2003 she graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of music and Drama with a BA Hons in Scottish Music.During her four years at the academy Kathleen studied under the renowned Gaelic singer Kenna Campbell and furthered her interests in Jazz Vocal Studies with Singer/Songwriter Sophie Bancroft.Since graduating Kathleen has gigged and recorded with various artists including lead vocals and Clarsach for septet Brolum making the CD The Fair Face I Never Saw. Kathleen has toured throughout the world and has just recently returned from a few gigs in New Zealand. Not only is Kathleen in demand as a performing artist but she is heavily invloved in teaching Voice, Clarsach, Dance and Groupwork to Children and adults. For the last couple of years she has taught in hundreds of Schools throughout Scotland as part of the Youth Music Initiative Scheme.Still very much involved in the folk scene, Kathleen is also enjoying singing and playing with musicians in other genres of music...watch this space!!
