About Me

John studied music at Cambridge and jazz at the Guildhall. Since then, he has had the good fortune to have played and recorded with many great British, European and South American muscians, including Dog Soup, Snowboy, Roberto Pla, Gilad Atzmon, Renato d'Aiello, Matt Wates, Dylan Howe, Guillermo Rozenthuler, Koby Israelite and Neil Yates. Dog Soup is also a prominent member of the Loop Collective, a growing London-based collective of young musicians exploring and blurring the boundaries of classical music, jazz, free/improvised music and electronica. The compositions here were recorded in the autumn last year, and there are plans to record a full album in the summer for later release featuring originals and some re-interpretations of standards.

Sounds Like: either some kind of schizophrenic indecision between wannabe lyricism and vague odd-time grooves or a cross between the sound your hoover makes when a coin has just got stuck in the nozzle and a poorly chosen loop of the engine sound of the hubble spacecraft at full acceleration
