HÃ¥kan Almkvist: Learning the very basic sitar playing technics in the early 80ties in Varanasi, India by university teacher Rajbhan Singh. Due to a severe right hand damage a few years later no possibility to continue playing the sitar for more than 10 years. Than started making own fusion kind of music in the late 90ties onwards with the India meets western progstyle "Orient Squeezers". Playing on records together with others like the Symphonic rock heros "The Flower Kings" the polystilistic circus kings "Flying Food Circus", the world-prog divercities of "In the Labyrinth". During the last five years practising more seriously the sitar and also trying to slowly understand the north Indian classical raga system of music. No Indian teacher at all since 1985.
Jon Jansen: A serious disciple of the Indian professional tabla player Nabankur Bhattacharya (now living in France) for more than 10 years. One of a very few Westerners who has been able to take tabla lessons from "Pandit" Anindo Chatterjee ! Jon also performs together with the Indian "Bansuri" flute player Anurag Chowdhery.
