I play the ancient Indian musical instrument called Veena. I have been trained since my childhood in the intricacies of Indian Classical Music- first Khayal, Sitar and Tabla and then Dhrupad and Veena. I first strummed a Veena and the Surbahar in the house of my Khayal teacher in 1985 and got hooked on to it since then. A week long tour with Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Dagar to Nainital in 1988 initiated me into the Dagar School of Dhrupad. I came in contact with Ustad Fariduddin Dagar in 1998-99 in Noida in the house of my teacher Nirmalya Dey . Since then I have been taking guidance from both of them on Veena and Dhrupad.----------------------------------------------------
