band members are all veterans of the Northwest rock and blues scene. Members have played together in several well known Portland based bands including, "Phoenix", "Pinch", "Kracker", "Turbo", "Rukus", "Bad Boys", "Funkyard Blues Band", "Rose City Rockers", & "Mr. Moon". : Some members have played in bands together dating back 40 years.
The band is named for the Whiskey Hill Area located in the southern most point in Oregon's Clackamas County. The Whiskey Hill area borders the northern banks of the Pudding River where the band was first formed and still holds their rehearsals.
The Whiskey Hill Area area was so named because during prohibition it was common knowledge among locals that high quality Moonshine was produced at several stills operating in the area. According to local history the main Still that produced the finest Moonshine was located in the woods near the Pudding River on or near the property where local School No. 91 now sits. Whiskey Hill plays what we have termed "Old 91 Brand," Moonshine Rhythm and Blues.
