The Verbtones

From the land of Satan's Pilgrims and Surf Trio

About Me

Pacific Northwest Surf. You naturally think of bands like Satans Pilgrims, The Surf Trio and other great surf bands based out of Portland, Oregon. The Verbtones are working to earn a spot on that list.
The band was formed in 2001 by VFF (Verbtones Founding Father) and lead guitar player Kyle Alaniz who recruited Steve Lewis on skins,Tom Wheatley on bass and Scot Hofstetter on guitar. Together they showcase their haunting, spine-chilling vintage-yet-modern surf melodies to ho-dads and grimmy's in Oregon and beyond. These lads have a true love for today's surf music and a respect for their surfin' forefathers that have influenced their unique sound... a time capsule from yesterday that some how seems right for today.
Phil Dirt of Reverb Central says
"The Verbtones seem to be masters of slow and moody, haunting and dangerous reverb. A band to watch"
